In a press release on behalf of the MRF and Ahmed Dogan, today's national conference of the Movement led by Delyan Peevski is defined as "illegitimate".
The forum was convened by Peevski to change the statute and remove party functionaries loyal to Dogan, as well as the post of "honorary chairman", which he has held so far.
The authors of the press release accuse Peevski and his people of "political banditry" and "an attempt to usurp the identity and legitimacy of our 35-year history as a political party".
"We already have a decision, we will appeal the legitimacy of this meeting", said Dzhevdet Chakarov.
"Democracy, Rights and Freedoms" also reacted sharply to the removal of the honorary chairman.
"The deletion of the honorary chairman in the statute of the MRF also means the deletion of the party's eternal values and strategic goals", said Dzhevdet Chakarov.
At this stage, the people around Ahmed Dogan are not planning a counter-conference. If today's decision is appealed, the court has the final say.
