"The totalitarian regime, which destroyed the Bulgarian intelligentsia through murders and camps, expelled Christians from churches, decided to carry out mass assimilation of the Turkish ethnic community in Bulgaria. Under the ominous inhumane title "Revival Process" "a forced change of identity of 1,306,000 people begins," Ismailov recalled.
"This is an attempt to lead to schizophrenia. You can change personal documents, but you cannot erase people's names, culture, traditions, mother tongue, faith, religion and the entire value system, as if you were transferring them to another parallel world, as if they were dead," the politician added.
And he continued:
"Against this, ordinary people are marching en masse to preserve their honor and dignity, and the totalitarian government is sending in the militia, army, gendarmerie, tanks.... This violent state love leads to 29 deaths, over a thousand in prisons and the Belene camp, as well as the ethnic cleansing of 360,000 people, which the communist government sarcastically called "The Great Excursion".
But this shameful process leads to the establishment of several human rights organizations and gains publicity through statements on the Western European radio stations "Free Europe", Deutsche Welle, BBC.
And the hardworking and dignified ethnic Turks express their will and intransigence through marches, hunger strikes, demonstrations, rallies.
Therefore, a bow to the victims!!! ... and let's preserve the spirit of those who have worthily defended their value system!, the politician concluded.
