ERM West restores power, fallen trees and strong winds cause new breakdowns - 1

Work continues to restore power supply in parts of Western Bulgaria. ERM West teams are eliminating the breakdowns, but due to the heavy snow cover and strong winds in the same areas, tall trees continue to fall and cause interruptions again.

All ERM West teams are on the ground, with the company's coordination center redirecting employees to the most affected areas. By 2:00 p.m., power supply was restored in Borovets resort. The situation is still difficult in settlements in the municipalities of Troyan, Teteven, Lovech, Samokov.

About 95% of the breakdowns are caused by tall trees that have fallen onto power lines and are located outside the easement zone. According to the Framework Agreement signed between the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria and the electricity distribution companies in the country, local authorities and the EDPs will work to change the ordinance in order to increase the easement areas of power lines. This will significantly reduce the accident rate and prevent long power outages.

Current information about outages and the expected time for power supply restoration is available on the website www.ermzapad.bg in the section “For the client“, subsection “Outages“: https://ermzapad.bg/bg/za-klienta/prekusvania/.

Signals about power outages can be submitted immediately to the electronic communication form: https://info.ermzapad.bg/webint/vok/contact-us.php. The company's 24-hour hotline is 0700 10 010.
