With care for children, pets and people with disabilities and illnesses, who are most vulnerable to harmful thunder, the administration of Vasil Terziev will replace fireworks and fireworks with an attractive light show this year. It will be part of the program of the New Year's concert on Knyaz Alexander I Square, organized by Sofia Municipality.
The administration calls on Sofia residents to refrain from using pyrotechnics and reminds that the outdoor use of fireworks (category F2 and F3) is prohibited in Sofia, except for the period from 6:00 p.m. on December 31 to 2:00 a.m. on January 1. The fine is 100 to 300 leva. and/or a property penalty in the amount of 300 BGN to 500 BGN.
Category F1 fireworks include sparklers, “crackling” balls and the like. F2 and F3 are the widely used types of sparklers, rockets and Roman candles, including the so-called pyrobatteries.
Control over compliance with the ban during the holidays is carried out daily by 10 patrol teams throughout Sofia - from the KOS-SDVR and the regional departments. They have been trained and have been working according to a specially prepared plan since December 5. In addition to the use of prohibited pyrotechnics, the teams also monitor the illegal sale or violations in the trade of sparklers, fireworks and other similar products, within the meaning of the law and the capital's ordinance.
