A bridge has collapsed in northern Brazil, killing 10 people, authorities said, quoted by NOVA.
The “Jucelino Kubicek de Oliveira“ structure, which connects the states of Maranhão and Tocantins, collapsed on Sunday, sending cars and passengers into the water.
The Brazilian Navy is conducting rescue operations in the area. Two days ago, they found a body six kilometers from the scene of the incident. So far, 10 people have died and 7 are missing.

More than 70 rescuers are continuing the search almost a week after the collapse, using a hyperbaric chamber that allows divers to search at depths of more than 30 meters.
Brazilian authorities have warned that the Tocantins River may have been contaminated with sulfuric acid carried by two trucks that fell into the water. The third truck involved in the incident was carrying pesticides. A fire department spokesman later told AFP that the tanks of all three trucks were “intact” after the collapse.
