Over 2 thousand babies were born in the capital's AG-hospital "Sheinovo" in 2024, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
The work of the team over the years shows that trust in the hospital is not decreasing. More and more patients are turning to its specialists, says the director, Dr. Rumen Velev.
"We are one of the established and one of the renowned hospitals not only in Sofia, but even in the country. It is no coincidence that for another year we have finished in third place in terms of birth rate in all of Bulgaria, which for a small municipal hospital is a very serious result and patients from all over Bulgaria really come to us and are treated and give birth. So, we may be a municipal hospital in terms of ownership and structure, but in fact we are national in terms of importance."

Dr. Rumen Velev sends off a difficult year. There are quite a few problems, some of which they have dealt with.

"Sometimes we have successes, sometimes we have slight declines, but overall he would say that the year was relatively good and relatively stable."
Again, AG "Sheinovo" ends the year with a positive financial result. The team has received Christmas bonuses, reports the director, who also mentions the donations that the hospital he manages has received.

"This is another criterion by which I can report that trust in the hospital is actually growing. This year, I would say, is unprecedented in terms of donations that we receive from various individuals, from legal entities, especially in the neonatal ward we received two very valuable devices - respirators, which are an indispensable help for our work. We continue to receive more patient monitors. We will also receive intensive care beds for the neonatal ward very soon.

The majority of our donations are related to the neonatal ward and especially to premature babies. I would say that this is the yardstick by which a nation, a people can be measured by such, I would say, innate qualities as empathy, as help, as a desire to help.

It is precisely in such moments that it is seen that the valuable qualities of the Bulgarian have not been lost and he loves to help, simply because he is good at heart and in character. I want to thank all these people and companies who responded to our call for help and who donated funds and equipment to us, because this is truly a great help for the future of Bulgaria.
