The 29-year-old Irish tourist, who was injured in an accident near Bansko, has died. This was reported by the hospital in Razlog to NOVA. The man had injuries incompatible with life.
We recall that on Tuesday the man fell from a height of 600 meters into the gullies in the direction of the "Banderitsa" hut. A team of the Mountain Rescue Service - Bansko participated in the rescue operation.
The man needed transportation by medical helicopter. However, the only one of its kind in our country made an emergency landing after a 15-minute flight to the site. In the Samokov region, the helicopter generated an indication of low oil pressure in engine No. 2.
Today it became clear that the black box from the aircraft will be removed to begin an investigation into the causes of the incident. This was assured by the chairman of the National Board for the Investigation of Accidents in Air, Water and Rail Transport Hristo Hristev. According to him, there were several violations. First, the names of the pilots were not written in the flight plan. In addition, in the event of such an incident, the crew is obliged to immediately notify the investigation body, which, however, did not happen. The main question is who gave permission for the helicopter to return to Sofia airport.
