Public transport drivers will patch potholes - 1

Public transport drivers in Plovdiv have threatened to patch potholes on their route themselves. They complain that they get flat tires every day or drive into oncoming traffic to avoid the huge holes under the bridge to Filipovo station, BNT reports.

The critical section is immediately before the last stop of lines 12, 21 and 99. There, Bozhidar Georgiev punctured two tires on the bus at the same time:

"We don't want new asphalt, we want the potholes to be patched. When it rains, cobblestones fly, they hit cars. There are probably over 10 cars with cracked crankcases. Let's not even mention how many tires we've had punctured, because once the paving stone gets between the two rear tires, it can't come out."

Dimitar Petkov – driver on line 12: "Here are three lines with 8-10 trips. So 24 buses 24 times – nearly 600 times the bus has hit these potholes. Especially under the bridge, they are in really poor condition."

Over the years, the area has become industrial. When it was designed, it was not intended to be used so intensively by heavy trucks, explained the district mayor's office. They assured that they have already spoken with the company that will repair the section.

"Action will be taken next week. The current repair in the sections that have asphalt pavements will be resurfaced with asphalt, and where there is pavement, it will be rearranged," said Eng. Miroslav Milushev – – "Severen" district.

Bozhidar Georgiev – driver on line 12: "Let's see if something happens, if it doesn't, we are 20-30 people, we will collect ten leva each, we will buy ten bags of cement and we will plug the holes."

A project for the reconstruction of the entire boulevard is planned for next year. The city hall called on citizens to report similar problem areas in the area.
