The main goals of GERB in this government are the eurozone and the budget. For months we have been hearing how important regulators are. If they are not important, they simply will not be on the agenda and will remain the same. But there are those with dead members. If the PP-DB does not want us to hurry, we will not hurry. This was stated on the sidelines of the parliament by GERB leader Boyko Borisov.
He noted that on the agenda for the work of the National Assembly on Wednesday there are only two items that concern people - about vapes and tobacco products. Everything else was a battle and an election campaign. "Hopefully there are centenarians in the family tree of Ivan Ivanov (the chairman of the KEVR - editor's note..), because he will probably spend another 20 years in this post. We had such a hard time agreeing to this government that I have to maneuver. We may be able to do it quite successfully in the coming months," Borisov added.
"Whoever doesn't kiss the priest on the hand, kisses the cross", said the GERB leader in connection with the PP-DB's refusal to support GERB.
For her part, GERB-SDF MP Raya Nazaryan specified that there are established rules and deadlines for each procedure. "The regulators' staff must be filled in order for the tension to drop and this hysteria to stop. There are established rules for conducting the nomination procedures, mentioned in the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly. The deadline for submitting candidacies for ombudsman is 28 days, and for those for constitutional judges - 14 days. Then the accompanying documents are reviewed, and then hearings are held. But this happens if the procedures have been passed in plenary. We are very late in renewing the bodies with expired mandates. More than 18 bodies with over 90 members need to be elected," she explained.
