BSP secretly elects party chairman from seven candidates - 1

The BSP congress continues today, BNT reported. The vote for the party leader was postponed late last night and is scheduled for 9 a.m. this morning.

The reason for the postponement is that the printing of the ballots was delayed. Of the 17 candidates for the leadership position in the BSP, 10 withdrew and 7 people remained in the race.

These are Atanas Zafirov, Borislav Gutsanov, Kristian Vigenin, Kaloyan Pargov, Boyan Balev, Boris Tsvetkov and Rusi Statkov.

The expectations are that when choosing the chairman, there will be a runoff between the first two who collected the most votes.

There is great energy among the members and supporters of the BSP. This was commented on by the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and leader of the parliamentary group of the BSP-OL Dragomir Stoynev, quoted by news.bg

The energy is returning, he reported, and according to him, there is an awakening in the party.

The most important decision is that the Congress will elect a chairman of the party, he said Stoynev. And this is important, because that way there is control over the leader. In addition, the party members also wanted the Congress to elect the leader of the socialists. We will elect a leader, there will be white smoke, Stoynev was categorical.

Everyone wants the BSP to be taken out of the marginal opposition, according to him. We stopped the free fall, he is satisfied.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly explained that the party entered the government with political courage. He sees yesterday's decision of the Council of Ministers on measures for high food prices as a success for the party.

Stoynev denied Delyan Peevski from recruiting staff in the BSP. We all breathed a sigh of relief that we will not go to new elections, commented the red MP.

A big problem is the sale of the nuclear reactors for the Belene NPP to Ukraine, pointed out Dragomir Stoynev. The BSP is against it. In addition, we cannot sell nuclear equipment without the consent of our European partners, since it can be used for dual use, in his words. Let's not rush into making such a decision, Stoynev insisted.
