The Minister of Regional Development Ivan Ivanov gathered representatives of the management of the RIA and the companies involved in the construction of the Mezdra - Botevgrad road at a meeting at the ministry. “There are countless complaints from citizens, mayors, members of parliament and transporters. Everyone's patience is exhausted. This is a priority road and I insist that work on it be intensified in order to make significant progress and have a clear plan," Ivanov told those present.
For their part, the representatives of the road construction companies explained that there has been a delay of over 2 years due to administrative and political reasons, and an additional difficulty is the complex geology of the route.
The problems were summarized as administrative and financial.
“Administrative issues on this case have been moving with absolute priority since the accession of this government, and the financial actions will be clear after the adoption of the budget,” emphasized Minister Ivanov and committed to supporting the process in communication with the institutions that are relevant to the procedures and the faster movement of the necessary documentation.
Next week, Minister Ivanov will inspect the progress of the section on site.
