Borislav Gutsanov and Atanas Zafirov are going to a runoff for the post of chairman of the BSP, NOVA learned from its sources. According to the information, Zafirov has 300 votes in support, and Gutsanov - 293. After them, 101 people voted for Kaloyan Pargov, and 83 for Kristian Vigenin.
The party is meeting on the second day of its 51st Congress. After it became clear on Saturday evening that the direct election of the party chairman would be dropped, the meeting began at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
We recall that the former chairman of the BSP Sergey Stanishev, the chairman of the Youth Union of the BSP Gabriel Valkov, the mayor of Dryanovo Trifon Panchev, Genadi Sabkov and Anton Kutev have so far withdrawn from the race for the leadership post. Earlier, the chairman of the BSP-Sofia Ivan Takov, the deputy chairman of the National Assembly and chairman of the parliamentary group of “BSP-United Left“ Dragomir Stoynev and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov also withdrew their candidacies.
