Spartan successfully transports sick child from Varna for treatment in Sofia  - 1

Servicemen from the Air Force (Air Force) with a "Spartan" plane successfully completed the task of transporting a patient for treatment in Sofia, the Ministry of Defense announced, BNT reported.

The crew from the 16th transport airbase completed the task of providing air transport for a sick child from Varna to Sofia. On board the plane, the little patient was accompanied by a medical team from Pirogov University Hospital, where he was admitted for subsequent treatment.

The crew commander was Lieutenant Colonel Plamen Donchev, and the team also included assistant commander - Captain Jasmina Hristova and flight engineer Captain Preslav Dimitrov. The plane took off for Varna Airport at 11:23 a.m. and landed back at 2:22 p.m. at "Vasil Levski" Airport - Sofia, the ministry explained.

In 2024, the Air Force carried out special transportation tasks in donor situations. On June 25, for an organ transplant at UMHAL "St. Marina" - Varna, with medical teams from the Military Medical Academy - Sofia and UMHAL "Alexandrovska" - Sofia with a "Spartan" plane; on November 15, for an organ transplant at UMHAL "St. Marina" - Varna and transportation of medical teams from UMHAL "Alexandrovska" and the Military Medical Academy with a "Spartan" plane; on the route Sofia - Varna - Sofia, and on December 2, transportation of a medical team on the route Sofia - Varna - Sofia.
