The increase in salaries in the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense is not the problem for the budget hole of 18 billion leva, and this increase amounts to 2.150 billion leva from the budget. This was commented by Delyan Dobrev, a GERB MP, in the Nova TV studio.

He explained that the policies of the last 4 years, supported by all political parties, are to blame for this shortfall.

Dobrev argued for the increase in police salaries by stating that Bulgaria was one of the safest countries in Europe - in terms of crime, theft, migration - and that is why the Ministry of Interior deserves these salaries.

The GERB MP commented on the words of Ivaylo Mirchev, who stated that in the Ministry of Interior, 500 people were responsible only for the department's properties. "It may be true", Delyan Dobrev said laconically.

Regarding the boycott of stores today and whether he supports it, Dobrev answered as follows: "At home, my wife does the shopping, I don't". On this occasion, Dobrev reminded that the regulators whose mandate has expired should have been replaced 4 years ago and asked that if they are so important, why weren't they replaced then.

According to him, limiting markups is harmful to the market. The working solution is greater competition, Dobrev responded to Borislav Gutsanov's words that in Austria some goods are cheaper, which are the same brands, in the same stores as in Bulgaria.

On the topic of the eurozone, Dobrev said that before requesting a report, one should see the inflation on February 24. He emphasized that the decision on whether Bulgaria will enter the eurozone is completely political.

Regarding the international situation, Delyan Dobrev said that it is best to look at the Bulgarian interest. When asked what GERB would choose in a given situation - the USA or Europe - he began to explain that he had been in the USA recently and there was a hunger there to build factories in other countries for high technologies.
