There will be no freezing of the minimum wage. The average wage is determined in the middle of the year, from which the minimum wage is also determined. This was stated to BTV by Hasan Ademov, a deputy from the PG of the DPS-DPS.

The development of social services is relevant to the issue of motherhood and the second year. What we could propose in the next budget, because this one is quite tense, is that if in the second year the mother returns to work - in addition to receiving the entire salary - she should also receive the entire compensation that is due for the second year, he commented on whether the maternity benefits should remain 700 leva. for the second year.

He also explained that within each budget procedure there are different opinions regarding the second year for motherhood.

„There is another thesis at the moment - if, for example, she stays for two years to raise a child in this dynamic of social relations - the mother will necessarily be disqualified and will not be attractive in the labor market after she returns from motherhood. At the moment, there was a law in effect in the text that if she returns to work, the mother will receive 50% of the compensation (390 leva per month until the child is 2 years old), plus a salary. There is an idea to have the possibility of taking the entire compensation“, Ademov also said.

The maternity allowance for raising a child from 1 to 2 years old is frozen at 780 leva. per month in the draft budget for 2025.

It provides for an increase in the maximum social security income.

Regarding the maximum social security income, it is proposed to increase it from 3,750 leva now to 4,130 leva and to increase it by 2028, when it will become 5,030 leva.

The government will have to find 417 million leva to increase pensions according to the Swiss rule. The draft budget for 2025, presented on Tuesday evening. provided for an increase in the money of the oldest by only 5%.

According to the Swiss rule, they must be updated by nearly 9% from July 1.

After criticism from the opposition for the proposal for a smaller increase in pensions, the government announced that they would rewrite the budget and find funds.

The draft budget will be discussed in the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation (NCTC) on Monday.
