Iliana Yotova: These votes of no confidence make the government more stable - 1

„These votes make the government more stable. Last time, they got more votes in the vote of no confidence than in the formation of the government”. This was commented by Vice President Iliana Yotova to journalists in Varna.

„Those who say that the votes are part of the campaign against the eurozone are hardly right. In fact, the votes show an even more stable government. If this is an indicator for our European partners, then it turns out that the more votes, the bigger the majority, the better for the eurozone”, said Yotova.

She commented that it is still too early to talk about presidential elections.

„It is important for us to have stability in the country right now. Our desire is for Bulgaria to be a predictable country, especially against the backdrop of the major geopolitical changes around us,” she said. “Let’s see in the different situations with tariffs what the consequences will be for Bulgarian business. This answer should be given by the Bulgarian ministries. I have great confidence in them at the moment,” Yotova said.

She also asked what the consequences of the development of the war in Ukraine will be and how Bulgaria will get involved in the recovery afterwards? According to her, Bulgarian business is serious enough and can get involved in this.

Yotova said that she would not comment on Borisov’s words about President Rumen Radev and the “Botaş” contract. “I don’t want to repeat his words, this is not part of my vocabulary. There are two important things. I want to hear the opinion of the responsible ministers – the people who will decide what and how to do with the contract. Secondly – This contract was concluded in an extremely difficult, uncertain period. Let me remind you of some steamers, tankers that walked like phantoms in unknown seas and anyway this liquefied gas did not reach Bulgaria. At that time, this contract guaranteed the security of supplies not only for Bulgaria, but also for the whole of Europe. Since then, there have been several governments. The government of the assembly had the opportunity to renegotiate if it did not like something. I do not think that currently in the international plan there is anything that cannot be renegotiated”, said Yotova.
