The police in Veliko Tarnovo detained a tourist bus driver with more than 2 per mille of alcohol while working.
A Pleven transport company was hired by a travel agency to transport its tourists to Veliko Tarnovo. The bus was stopped for a police check. The driver drove the tourists in a visibly intoxicated state.
The breathalyzer read 2.44 per mille of alcohol. The 46-year-old driver gave a blood sample for analysis and was detained. He is known to law enforcement and has a criminal record, the police announced.
The results are expected to be released and it depends on them whether the prosecutor's office will indict him and impose the 72-hour detention measure.
The tourists waited in Veliko Tarnovo for another driver from the transport company in Pleven to arrive, he was checked and the bus continued with the excursion on its route.
