Employees from the “Fiscal Control“ of the NRA are inspecting larger exchanges, markets and food stores throughout the country. The control actions are part of the government's measures to shorten the supply chain and limit unfair practices in food chains. As of yesterday, 20.02., the NRA, together with the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) and the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC), began mass inspections in order to establish whether the rules for transparency and loyalty are being observed along the chain of movement of goods from the producer to the retailer. The information collected from the control actions for unfair practices will serve the purposes of the draft law on the regulation of supply chain contracts.
During the inspections, tax inspectors require documents of origin for essential goods - meat, milk, rice, potatoes, etc., and also track pricing from the manufacturer/importer to the price in the store.
„We monitor whether all sales made in retail outlets are reported, whether the obligations for registering and reporting sales are complied with in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory and sub-normative acts. We also track pricing from the manufacturer/importer to the price in the store. "Our inspections will continue next week. Our goal is to cover as many sites as possible to ensure compliance with the legislation," said Filipina Todorova, the chief director of "Fiscal Control."
