The current coalition is immoral, unprincipled, only for power and positions, and the budget is a social axe and a social freezer.
This was said by the former chairman of the Socialists and now the leader of "Unruly Bulgaria" Cornelia Ninova to NOVA NEWS.
She pointed out that there can be no talk of a social pillar, since the minimum wage, maternity, child benefits, money for people with disabilities and tax breaks for young families have been frozen for the next three years.
The politician said that a comparison cannot be made between the "Petkov" and "Zhelyazkov" cabinets. According to her, there are four big differences. The first is that everyone in Kiril Petkov's government was united around the idea of changing the GERB governance model. "The current government is in the arms of GERB," she said. "The second difference is that our voters, the people from the 2020 protest, stood behind us and we did not lie to them. The current government - all four parties - lied to all their voters," she added. The third difference, according to Ninova, is that in the "Petkov" government there was a clearly prepared program, which was opposed by a legislative one. According to her, there are none in the current cabinet. The fourth difference, according to Ninova, will probably be the results. “We achieved first place in industrial production at a difficult time, now we have a serious collapse in the economy”, she added.
On the topic of the eurozone, Ninova believes that “someone needs to present the real data and see that Bulgaria is not ready economically and socially to adopt the euro”. And she added that this should happen when we are ready.
The leader of “Unruly Bulgaria” also commented on the “Vazrazhdane” protest. She described it as unacceptable and as inadmissible aggression. In her words, the effect could also be the opposite, “since “there are moderate people who do not want the euro, but when they see what happened, they will think, if these are the defenders of the Bulgarian lev - what is this about”.
Ninova believes that the internal contradictions between the coalition partners in the current government in the distribution of posts for regulators, deputy ministers, district governors and others will “explode” the government. She added that this also happened during the government of Kiril Petkov. But she stressed that the current situation is even more complicated.
Ninova also commented on the formation of “Unruly Bulgaria”. She said that a statute and a founding declaration have been adopted and they are currently collecting 2,500 signatures. She stated that she will not interfere in the BSP.
