The situation in the country is still post-election, not government. We still hear the echoes of the elections. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist Parvan Simeonov.
According to him, Boyko Borisov is constantly postponing something - the budget, the eurozone, appointments in the second echelon of power. All the time we are in a situation in which he is resorting to providing some life to this government. In this situation, we have not yet started to think about the government itself, and the elections are still echoing, he explained.
Simeonov believes that the current government can last two years or even more. However, according to him, at the same time there is a risk that it will collapse the very next day. According to him, the DPS-DPS are not in a position to rock the boat so as to turn it over.
Regarding the euro, he pointed out that the attitude of Bulgarian society towards the euro is timid. Simeonov emphasized that the reasons for this are different. He is of the opinion that the actions of Vazrazhdane and the attempt to storm the EC building in Sofia will have the opposite effect. In his words, it is frightening that there were burning mannequins with the faces of prominent European officials. The political scientist added that this will repel people.
In connection with the requests and threats from Donald Trump to Europe, he expressed hope that this will turn out to be only style, not content. Simeonov hopes that in the attempt to end the conflict in Ukraine, new conflicts will not arise. In his words, the US is acting like a bull in a glass shop. He added that Europe is not reacting properly at the moment, it is not just the West that is threatened with disintegration, but Europe is threatened with disintegration.
