This was commented by former Deputy Minister of Finance Lyubomir Datsov regarding the fulfilled criteria for our admission to the eurozone.
"Bulgaria must clearly state that it will pursue a low inflation policy. We take responsibility that we will maintain the price policy with which we have applied. This is one of the conditions."
According to him, we must now guarantee a fiscal policy that leads to price stability.
"The fiscal-structural plan, which our country must send to Brussels for evaluation by the end of the week, is very important because it guarantees such a fiscal policy that leads to price stability. Inflation is a result variable, that is, we must internally implement the correct anti-cyclical policy. The budget is anti-cyclical and you implement such a policy. We are committed to achieving this level," he said.
Datsov believes that we need a more ambitious budget.
"I have reservations on the expenditure side. Reforms are needed. And there is not a single area in which there are no structural problems. There are beginnings of reforms only in education, for the others - the ministers are debtors. The steps must be bolder. "But it should be noted that this budget that is being sent is technically very well put together," he also announced.
