The battle to preserve nuclear reactors in Bulgaria began long ago. Bulgaria has been, is and will continue to be an exporter of electricity. This assurance was given by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov.
"Investments in new base capacities, such as nuclear power plants, are necessary. The new reactors will help us meet the need for energy, which will grow in the coming years," he explained.
On the topic of money for Bulgaria from Europe under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, Stankov said: "We must try to save the second payment as soon as possible".
According to him, the Plan, which was submitted to the EC during the government of Kiril Petkov, was unworkable. "It put our energy security at stake and did not protect our national interest", the minister expressed his opinion.
