A festive iftar dinner will be held in Sofia to mark the beginning of the holy month.
During Ramadan, Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn to sunset. These are days of forgiveness, repentance and mercy.
President Rumen Radev will host the traditional iftar dinner on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.
Representatives of the Muslim and other traditional religious communities in Bulgaria, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps in our country, figures from the fields of culture, education and science, have been invited to the gala dinner. The president's hosting of the gala iftar dinner is an expression of respect for the religious holiday and the traditions of Muslims in our country.
Meanwhile, the head of state will participate in a solemn ceremony to raise the national tricolor flag in the city of Etropole. The festive events begin with a procession from the city center to the "Zvezdata" area. The president will deliver a speech at the national flag-raising ceremony.
The initiative to erect a 20-meter-high pylon with the tricolor belongs to the municipality of Etropole.
