Zhecho Stankov: The coalition is stable, the so-called tremors are just an adjustment - 1

„In my opinion, the coalition is stable. Some say that there are tremors inside, but I would call it an „adjustment”. The goal of forming the government was to return the country to normality. For this to happen, first of all, there must be a state budget. It shows all the policies, measures and goals that we have set for ourselves”.

This is what Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov commented to NOVA.

According to him, Boyko Borisov's statement that he was saddened by the declaration of „Democracy, Rights and Freedoms”- MRF, because talks on all possible topics should be within the coalition. “Personnel issues should be after the state budget is adopted, and not discussed through the media”, added Stankov.

“It is important not to lose money on the PVU. Currently, our money is blocked because the first PP government has made such commitments that want to close the Bulgarian energy sector and introduce a power-on-demand regime, “to dig deep” into the pockets of Bulgarian households and may lead to the bankruptcy of the Bulgarian energy sector through an early demand of over 2 billion leva”, said the Energy Minister.

Stankov pointed out that his goal as Minister of Energy is to ensure that no funds are lost in the “Energy” sector. ”The projects for which procedures have been launched will be saved. The government's goal is to maximize the use of funds directed to people, municipalities and businesses," he said.

“We had made a commitment to those people who were left in the dark during the New Year holidays to receive compensation in the form of financial assistance from the state. These compensations are already being paid," Stankov added.

According to the Energy Minister, the total amount of compensation is 2.2 million leva for nearly 26,000 households.
