Todor Tokov is the new regional coordinator of "We Continue the Change" in Plovdiv, BNR reported.

He was selected through a competition and was presented today by the party's co-chairman Asen Vassilev to supporters from the city.

The meeting was also attended by the MP from "We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria" Stoyu Stoev.

Before the start of the meeting, he stressed that it is very important what Plovdiv will receive from the state budget for this year, which is due to be voted on in a second reading in a few days.

According to Assen Vassilev, the good news for Plovdiv is that after a seven-month delay, the order for the construction of a city railway has been launched.

"And we hope that a contractor will still be selected, that it will be designed and also built. You know that the Recovery Plan has funds for rolling stock. It is good that the National Railways can also build a route", said Assen Vassilev.

The MP from "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" Stoyu Stoev said that it is extremely important when talking about the budget for this year, what Plovdiv will receive. However, he stressed that the data of the MRDPW makes it clear that last year Plovdiv managed to absorb a very small part of the 110 million applied for projects.

"Of these 100 million - Plovdiv received 6 million leva. You can imagine what a waste of funds this is. Money that Plovdiv irretrievably lost" - Stoyu Stoev was categorical.

According to him, the reason for this is either negligence and misunderstanding of the program, or zero project readiness. For a year and a half, the Municipality of Plovdiv has not been able to complete a single procedure, the MP emphasized. For this year, the administration has set aside projects for 350 million leva, but they will also not be able to be received, as a limit of 100 million leva applies.

Today, Assen Vassilev announced that on Tuesday the proposals of "Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" will be presented, to be included between the first and second reading in this year's budget.

The first of these is to limit the country's debt by 7 billion leva and not to distribute this money to state-owned enterprises.

"The second proposal will be to continue the policy of investing in young families, and we will propose an increase in the tax relief per child for working parents - from 600 to 900 leva" - Assen Vassilev also said.
