"With such a fragmented parliament, guaranteeing support for bills is always a test. It is possible that we will observe various surprises if the opposition manages to achieve unity for certain actions. It is not the prime minister's job to seek a majority in parliament. Borisov's role is far from small in negotiating support. He distances himself because he is not directly responsible for policy, according to his understanding," said political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoychev in "Denyat ON AIR".
According to sociologist Kolyo Kolev, all parties are more or less afraid of going to early elections, but it is impossible to hold on to power in the long term.
"In this situation, this super fragmented parliament increases Peevski's role, because until now we had a majority that could have been more or less consolidated. It is no coincidence that today he said that everyone will play with him. Borisov is a master at being an opposition to himself. All this portends a government that will seem quite amorphous and will be hated by everyone. You have the feeling that you are observing a hermit crab in which everyone hates each other", he added for Bulgaria ON AIR.
The support of DPS-DPS is in question
According to Assoc. Prof. Stoychev, we observe cohesion among the three ruling parties - they demonstrate an intention to work together for a longer period of time.
"The question marks are related to the fourth party that provides support - DPS-DPS, whose support was questioned. At the moment when the current configuration is shaken, it is possible that the partner who left will be replaced by another. There is no one to be in this environment. There is speculation about PP-DB, but for them at the moment the best strategy is to distance themselves from the government," commented the guest.
What awaits us are economic problems, Kolev is categorical.
"It is possible, through the mechanisms of political power, for Peevski to exert administrative political pressure so as to ruin DPS-DPS. In general, the geopolitical turn will not be gentle and calm. We will live in interesting times. "Once we get into the Eurozone, they will pay for setting this goal for a number of reasons," the sociologist explained.
