Many things are being done for greening - we are working to turn schoolyards into an oasis. There are many interesting projects for the green ring, for the rivers of Sofia. There are hundreds of illegal landfills in Sofia, we have informed all institutions. Without active work by the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Interior, there is no way the problem can be solved. Whether they are sabotaging or neglecting, what is expected is not happening. Instead, topics are being raised that we have problems with household waste. I want to reassure Sofia residents - we do not have such a problem. There are no problems there, but there are problems with landfills, the mayor of the capital explained.
According to him, people who are busy fighting the problem with landfills are receiving threats. He added that signals have been sent to the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Environment and Water. "The answer - "If they haven't run you over, there is no problem. People are at risk to protect us and our city," Terziev also said.
It is within the powers of the Ministry of Environment and Water to take measures, we have provided a list. This should be criminalized, but there is no will.
Terziev pointed out that there is a danger of losing money on the PVU for kindergartens and schools. "We are working extremely hard so that they do not lose money on all projects. PVU is our priority", the mayor of Sofia added.
According to him, kindergartens for 9,000 children must be built, which makes about 60 kindergartens.
Regarding the Sofia budget, Terziev said: "No tax increases are planned. The focus is on schools and kindergartens, public transport, neighborhoods. We want more investments in neighborhoods - streets, lighting".
