„It has been no secret to me for a long time that our Foreign Ministry has existed pro forma. Some people are retiring there, I apologize to those who do their job conscientiously. But the lack of formulation of what the Bulgarian national interest looks like, the inability of any foreign minister to give an answer on how Bulgaria achieves its foreign policy goals, through the alliances in which it is a member - we are once again seeing simply a reaction to events that are overwhelming us.“
The opinion was expressed by political scientist Hristo Panchugov on Darik Radio.
He commented on the vote of no confidence submitted by „Vazrazhdane“, „Velichie“ and MECH, emphasizing that in the future these formations will not be able to create a bloc or coalition for several reasons, one of which is their common electorate.
Regarding BSP-OL, Panchugov believes that the party currently has one goal and that is survival.
The situation for PP-DB is interesting, according to the expert, because they are simultaneously trying to be the opposition, but also have common political interests, and the topic of Ukraine is left in free fall.
