"Six reports of bear attacks were received by the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Waters – Smolyan in March", said Ekaterina Gadzheva – director of the inspection, quoted by BTA.
She indicated that joint inspections were carried out by the rapid response group and forestry employees.
Three of the attacks were in the village of Buynovo, Borino municipality. One damage was found in the villages of Dve topoli - Banite municipality, Yagodina - Borino municipality, and Trigrad - Devin municipality. Cows were killed, the director of the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Water Resources specified.
Gadjeva added that an inspection was also carried out in the village of Trigrad for traces of a brown bear, whose area has suffered frequent damage in previous years.
