The road safety measures announced by the government will not solve the problem, because this problem dates back decades. No one has done what is necessary to stop the destruction of the road infrastructure. This was stated on NOVA NEWS by the MP from the PP-DB Svilen Trifonov.
He added that “it is not possible to solve the problems in such a short period of time as the government thinks“.
This means that all the roads will have to be dug up again, their base replaced and the asphalt laid again. This is not possible. This is more of a crisis PR of the government, because whenever there is a death on our roads, the government demonstrates a desire to quickly deal with the problems and brings to the fore some unclear strategies. Such an example was the tragedy near Svoge, but there is still not much change in this direction, explained the MP.
He raised the alarm that the road between Pleven and Lovech also needs major repairs, but the responsible institutions, at best, lay road markings, and that is the end of their commitments.
“In recent years, many people have lost their lives on this road, including my uncle“, said Trifonov.
According to him, reducing the speed limit on the highways will not solve the problem either. Instead, he called for greater control and expressed the opinion that risky leaders can only be reeducated by imposing high sanctions, which, however, would then be collected by the state.
On another topic on the agenda, the MP explained that the PP-DB plan to submit a vote of no confidence against Zhelyazkov's cabinet, but only after we receive a date for membership in the eurozone.
We have a strategic goal and that is Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. Corruption is our topic, but until the convergence report is released, we will not support a vote of no confidence submitted by other parties, nor will we submit our own. But as soon as the date for membership becomes clear, we will prepare our own vote of no confidence, Trifonov explained.
