After Peevski came out into the open as part of the ruling majority, I think things have normalized. Before that, there was some tension, but now everything is on the table and this is favorable for the political situation in the country. He specified that Ahmed Dogan had so far supported the majority in order to isolate Peevski from the government, but he did not succeed and was defeated by the leader of DPS-New Beginning.
Dogan will remain isolated, but in the medium term he may join a center-left group, the sociologist added.
As for the convergence report that we expect for our admission to the eurozone, Tonchev said that if it is negative, this would automatically mean a political crisis, but he still believes that it will not be negative.
“This majority will remain stable at least until next spring, which in turn gives the prospect of this government making another budget“, he explained and added that for the moment the battle for the eurozone is being won by the systemic parties.
On the topic of the no-confidence votes, the expert pointed out that the discussions on them are not convincing enough and there are no new ideas or facts in them. According to him, all they do is consolidate the government.
