If there was any meaning from this vote, it is that it became clear that there is no alternative to this majority and this government at the current moment in the country. The motives were rather frivolously selected. They represented a retrospective of scandalous and corruption cases back in time, which can hardly be related to a government that is not even 100 days old. This was stated in the program “Face to Face“ on bTV by Zhelyo Boychev, a member of the BSP executive bureau. According to him, the actions of the opposition are frivolous.
“This was more of a vote of no confidence in previous governments and was not relevant to the current composition of the National Assembly. Otherwise, there are serious topics and questions raised that I believe should not be brushed aside. But it is not serious that the main instrument in the parliamentary hands of an opposition is used so lightly. It is clear that there is no alternative to this“, he added.
He emphasized that the BSP is an old and established political force with established traditions.
“This is not the first complex government in which it has participated. If we go back to the 1990s, a much more severe political confrontation - then the BSP was with the UDF in a government of Dimitar Popov. But there was one goal - to stabilize the country. The BSP has many times put its party interests in the background before the state ones. There is a certain meaning in our participation in power“, Zhelyo Boychev also said.
