"35 billion leva are needed for the rehabilitation of problematic road sections", Minister of Regional Development Ivan Ivanov announced to the deputies from the relevant committee, BNR reported.
He added that unpaid funds from previous years for activities carried out amount to one billion and they must be paid this year.
"Our main task is the construction of the highways - "Hemus", the highway between Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse, the completion of the road between Botevgrad and Mezdra, the section between Vratsa and Montana, between Montana and Vidin," he also said
"At least my view is that without a functional highway in Northern Bulgaria this road traumatism, in general the overloading, the destruction of first-class and second-class roads will not stop", added Ivan Ivanov.
The regional minister told the deputies that the Directorate for National and Construction Control has inspected over 400 bars, nightclubs and discos in order to prevent a repeat of the tragedy in the North Macedonian city of Kochani, where over 60 young people died in a fire.
