In the period from April 11 to 19, 2025, the "Easter Basket" initiative was launched for the first time in our country. It aims to provide the main Easter products that are traditional for our country on the table of every home, at affordable prices for consumers, without compromising on quality.
This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The following products will be included in the campaign:
• Lamb
• Goat
• Eggs
• Easter bread rolls
• Themed confectionery for the holiday
The proposal for this initiative is planned to be implemented through voluntary cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and retail chains and supermarkets.
If desired, participating retailers are committed to offering the above-mentioned products at controlled prices during the holidays.
The “Easter Basket“ is a voluntary price initiative, not a legislative one.
The expected results for households are more affordable prices during a period of increased demand and costs. For businesses - improving the image and relationship with consumers through social responsibility. Prevention of speculative price jumps and maintaining price stability are also among the goals of the campaign.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food also proposes the idea of coordinating with large chains - supermarkets in our country, if desired. There is no legal obligation for retailers to participate. Traders voluntarily agree to include certain products in a special list and to offer truly either stable or lower prices for certain products.
The initiative will contribute to preventing excessive price increases during this period and in terms of competition itself.
