There is no ready project for major repairs of the road between Lukovit and Pleven, where 12-year-old Siyana died.
This was announced today to journalists by the regional minister Ivan Ivanov, BTA reported. According to him, the project will be completed by the end of June, when Lot 1 of the "Hemus" highway will be put into operation. "There is no construction permit, the project has gone through two stages, the third is not ready. What I have set as a task for the Road Infrastructure Agency is to complete and approve the project for the major repair of the I-3 road between Lukovit and Pleven by the end of June," the regional minister also pointed out.
He explained that the reason the project has not yet been completed is because "someone overslept in its timely approval". The minister emphasized that he is not looking for fault in anyone, it is not his job to give assessments of what has been done by his predecessors and it is not correct to politicize the problem.
Ivan Ivanov was today inspecting the construction of the Mezdra - Botevgrad expressway and Lot 1 of the Hemus motorway.
