You don't know where you are, you don't know what to do, there's no one to help you at that moment, because you've lost your dearest - your child, whom you've tried to raise in something. In the end, someone comes, drugged and drunk, and takes his life”, Slavka Miteva, the mother of the deceased Goshko, tells Nova TV.
„There's a void left in you that's very hard to get over. It hurts as if that day was yesterday”, says Yanitsa's mother - Magdalena Nikolova.
Yanitsa, Melin, Evgeni, Gosho, Trifon and Krasimir - the Angels of Simeonovgrad. In their memory, their families started a fight for harsher punishments for the murderers on the road and achieved small successes. However, they believe that the problem lies with each of us. “The responsibility lies with everyone, because we raise our children and they follow our path. We don't have the basic culture. Not that the roads are bad, but if they were good - there would be even more accidents, because – here, our road since they built it has been almost a runway”, claims Slavka.
Every new case of a child's death brings back memories of the black Easter in Simeonovgrad. “I want to express my condolences to Siyana's family. I hope they achieve something, but there is simply nothing to be achieved in our country. The whole people need to rise up to achieve something, and we are not like that”, believes Goshko's mother.
Salvation from the pain in Simeonovgrad is found in the struggle for change.
