„DPS - New Beginning“ confirmed its support for the government. According to the parliamentary group, the eurozone is a priority and therefore the vote of no confidence will not be supported by it.
„Votes of no confidence cannot be passed until the convergence report on entry into the eurozone is released. There has been no official comment on the entry of „DPS - New Beginning“ into the ruling coalition,“ said the MP from the parliamentary group headed by Peevski, Hamid Hamid.
The People's Representative from the same group Iskra Mihaylova, for her part, explained that Bulgaria needs a regular government to work for the people now, not in the future.
PP-DB will also not support the vote of no confidence. This was announced by representatives of the coalition.
„There is no way we can oppose Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone. There are enough arguments for this government to be overthrown due to a number of corruption scandals, but the next two months are extremely important for our entry into the eurozone. It was clear from the very beginning that Delyan Peevski is in the government. It will be interesting how the ITN will react, because they previously said that the MRF-DPS is a guarantor that „DPS-New Beginning” is not in government”, said MP Ivaylo Mirchev upon entering parliament.
According to his colleague Lena Borislavova, it is the adoption of the single currency that will reduce corruption practices in our country. "Even if we support the vote of no confidence, it will not pass, because our votes are not enough," the MP emphasized.
We recall that this is the second vote of no confidence against the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet. This time the topic is corruption. The debates will be held today, and the vote will be 24 hours later. The vote was submitted to the parliament's registry by MECH at the end of last week and is supported by "Vazrazhdane" and "Velichye". The reasons for it are set out in 15 pages.
Against this background, the MRF-DPS decided to withdraw their support for the cabinet. This happened on Tuesday after a joint meeting of the parliamentary group and the Central Operational Bureau. The reasons - the institutions are being used for repression, and the judicial system is increasingly dependent. Despite their withdrawal, the risk for Rosen Zhelyazkov's cabinet is not great due to the declared support from the “DPS-New Beginning“ group.
