The formal "minority government" with the GERB mandate will continue to function under the direct influence of Delyan Peevski, despite the withdrawn support from Ahmed Dogan's parliamentary group. This became clear from the comments of political analysts on the "This Morning" show on bTV.

"BSP and There is Such a People never intended to create a cordon sanitaire around Delyan Peevski", said PR expert Diana Damyanova, who is among the creators of "We Continue the Change". According to her, the government is not a true minority, since the 29 MPs from DPS - New Beginning are actually behind it.

Analysts are adamant that the changes are rather cosmetic. "They will stay together for several reasons. The first is that they have been together for 12 years, the second is that they have a common mission - the eurozone", explained Damyanova and added: "Nothing happened, neither yesterday, nor will it happen today. That night, Boyko Borisov and his surrounding parties slept peacefully, because better a terrible end than endless horror".

Journalist Yovo Nikolov emphasized that the alliance between Peevski and Borisov dates back to 2013. "They are one and the same thing, one whole. For so many years", he said. Nikolov added that Peevski has proven to be an exceptionally good student and is now demonstrating what DPS has always been – a balancer of all kinds of policies, providing opportunities for trade with influence in the economic spheres.

Damyanova pointed out that "the main drama of the MRF - MRF is that they expected the government to support Dogan remaining in power".

Nikolov's comment on the smuggling scandal in Plovdiv is particularly worrying. According to him, the fact that GERB is insisting that the BSP vote against hearing the minister on the case shows that smuggling reaches the very top of the political establishment. "The topic is why the political leadership of the Ministry of Interior is covering up smuggling channels", stated Nikolov categorically, who said that he has been monitoring national security for 35 years and such a scandal is comparable to only one other case.

"Everyone in Bulgaria is striving to take control of the institutions, and if they are currently being taken over by Delyan Peevski, this is not news, it has been like this for 10 years", summarized Damyanova, outlining an extremely worrying picture of the state of Bulgarian democracy.
