There is no anti-corruption majority in this parliament that would isolate Peevski's influence. Today in the hall we will see a debate that will be dust in the people's eyes. This was stated on the sidelines of the National Assembly by the co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group Nadezhda Yordanova, in connection with today's debate on the submitted vote of no confidence on the topic of corruption.
The worrying news from yesterday is that in the 51st National Assembly there is not only no anti-corruption majority, but there is a pro-Russian one. This is how Nadezhda Yordanova commented on the government's stated intentions not to complete the deal for the sale of the reactors from the “Belene“ NPP of Ukraine. “Stopping the deal and talking about restarting the project is a very worrying gesture by Borisov towards Putin, similar to the one with the Turkish Stream. It is the responsibility of GERB and Borisov to ensure that Bulgaria does not get bogged down again in this corruption swamp, as they themselves have defined the “Belene“ NPP project.
What is the real intention of GERB and Borisov, are they putting our entry into the eurozone at risk, asked the co-chair of the PP-DB Parliamentary Group.
The co-chair of the PP-DB Parliamentary Group Nikolay Denkov stated that the group will not participate in tomorrow's vote of no confidence, “in order to support the most important national priority – entry into the eurozone“. According to Nikolay Denkov, the importers are trying to present this vote of no confidence as a choice between the fight against corruption and Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone.
“In fact, the adoption of the single currency is one of the strongest anti-corruption instruments - if we were in the eurozone, CorpBank would not have gone bankrupt and tens of thousands of people would not have lost their savings. There would not have been tens of millions that could be withdrawn and taken out in sacks and bags“, said Academician Denkov.
