This is my decision, I made it, without pressure and time will tell whether it was the right one. I am convinced of my choice.
This was commented by the Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, after earlier today he announced that he was appointing Bogdana Panayotova as Chief Architect of Sofia.
I presented my motives publicly because I believe that this is the right decision, Terziev noted and emphasized that he trusts her. The mayor said that in two weeks there will be an even more detailed program with all the commitments of the Sofia Municipality of the "Architecture and Urban Planning" Department. So I hope things will calm down, the mayor said.
He recalled that Panayotova passed a polygraph test to prove that she did not make a single decision under external pressure, blackmail or in the name of material gain. No one is infallible, and I do not think that I am. If there are mistakes, they will be the result of something else, not pressure, Terziev said. He stressed that it is important to know that Sofia is not on autopilot when it comes to urban planning.
When asked if he was worried that "Save Sofia", which are coalition partners of "Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria" in the Sofia Municipal Council, might lose their trust in him, as they warned, Terziev replied: "I am worried that a meteorite might hit us. "I worry about a lot of things, but ultimately I have to make decisions all the time, for which I am responsible." The key word is responsibility, he added.
