Kiselova: It is better for the National Assembly to adopt fewer, but seriously discussed, draf laws - 1

In the current situation, it is better for the National Assembly to adopt fewer, but more seriously discussed draft laws and not to repeat the mistakes of previous parliaments. This was said by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova at the presentation of the new issue of “Legal Barometer“, reported by BTA.

"If a large part of the acts we have adopted can be exempt from constitutional control, I think this is a good start for returning to the normal functioning of the National Assembly", added Kiselova.

I wish success to “Legal Barometer“ and that these analytical and summarized data show us that the normal functioning and stability of the legal system should prevail over conjunctural decisions, said Natalia Kiselova.

A record low number of new laws, only three for the entire year of 2024, is reported in the new issue of “Legal Barometer" - a civil initiative for periodic monitoring and assessment of the state and development of the legal order in Bulgaria, led by Prof. Daniel Valchev. 2024 becomes the year with the smallest number of new laws adopted since the beginning of the study in 2010. The trend of over 90% of laws being amended and supplemented more than once a year continues. The Social Security Code is again the law with the highest average annual number of amendments and supplements - seven times a year, the new issue of the magazine reports.
