Teams of security and criminal police officers carried out road checks in the Sliven region with eight unmarked cars during the holidays, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Sliven reported.
78 violations under the Road Traffic Act were registered. The most common are improper overtaking and speeding. A driver was detected driving at a speed of 220 km/h in the direction of Burgas. The violation was committed by a 20-year-old driver of a BMW car.
On the “Trakia“ Five drivers were sanctioned for dangerous behavior: aggression towards other participants, overtaking on the right and failure to maintain distance.
A total of 3018 motor vehicles and 3345 people were checked. 286 speeding incidents were recorded. 81 illegal overtakings, 168 cases of failure to use seat belts, two drivers under the influence of alcohol and two under the influence of drugs were detected. 15 cases of using a mobile phone while driving were also registered.
305 administrative acts and 511 tickets were drawn up.
The control on the roads in the Sliven district with unmarked cars continues. They will monitor compliance with the rules on main, secondary and municipal roads.
