Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva has resigned. This was reported during the meeting of the Prosecutorial College of the Supreme Judicial Council, BNT reported.
Karakasheva resigned on April 16. With their decision today, the personnel officers dismissed her from her post, effective May 12.
She requested to return as a judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation, where she was before being appointed as Borislav Sarafov's deputy.
No reasons were reported at the meeting of the Prosecutorial College for Karakasheva's desire to leave the post.
Before Karakasheva's dismissal, the Prosecutorial College unanimously elected Hristo Hristov for a second term as Veliko Tarnovo District Prosecutor. He was the only candidate for the position.
His concept for work in the next term was supported by all eight people present in the hall.
The judicial personnel officers also announced two competitions for heads - of the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in Sofia and the Military Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv.
