The Ministry of Tourism takes over the management of one of the most picturesque natural landmarks on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - the "Bolata" beach. By decision of the Council of Ministers, part of the properties in the area of the "Bolata" area, Kavarna Municipality, were transferred free of charge from the Ministry of Environment and Water to the Ministry of Tourism.
„The transfer of management is part of a broader policy for an active role of the state in the management of strategic tourism resources and the promotion of sustainable tourism models that preserve nature and create new opportunities for the development of local communities,“ stated the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh.
Bolata Beach is located within the boundaries of the protected area “Steppes“ and the buffer zone of the “Kaliakra“ reserve.
This excludes the possibility of commercial exploitation or concession, but not for responsible and sustainable development.
The Ministry will work together with the local authorities and all competent institutions to ensure free access to the beach while complying with all rules, the necessary infrastructure and control activities, maintaining the cleanliness and security of the beach.
