The number of hotels closed by the authorities in Antalya after inspections has reached nearly 50. In the coming days, the same fate will befall an impressive number of hotels in Istanbul.
The reasons for the closure of hotel complexes in Antalya include non-compliance with fire safety regulations, lack of a work license, and others.
Istanbul is taking even tougher measures, as all hotels that do not have an operating license, which must be issued by the Ministry of Tourism, will be closed within days, announced the city's governor, Davut Gul.
The reason for the mass inspections by the state is the tragedy of January 21, in which 78 people died and 51 were injured. There were 238 people in the hotel at the time of the fire.
