A 56-year-old Bulgarian died and five others were injured in a car accident on Christmas Eve near the Italian city of Foggia, BNR reported.
The deceased was the passenger of the driver, who was driving an “Audi“ car – also a Bulgarian who hit an ambulance carrying a woman - according to initial information, injured by smoke, local publications Gazzetta del mezzogiorno, Foggiatoday and others report.
Following the testimony and what was shared with the media by a paramedic in the ambulance, which was called to Torremaggiore by the injured woman's neighbors, medical personnel noticed a large knife on the table in her home, the woman was covered in wounds and scratches, and there was also a crying child.
The police were immediately called, and the woman was put in the ambulance. Her husband and the other Bulgarian next to him in the car chased the ambulance and hit it several times. It flew off the road, as did the car. The driver's passenger died, the driver was injured.
The medics were also injured. The Bulgarian driver who caused the accident, whose name has not been released, has been hospitalized and his version is being verified by the prosecutor's office.
Over 2,500 Bulgarians live in the Foggia area, most of whom are employed in agriculture.
