An international drug channel was busted during an operation by GDBOP, "Border Police" and "Customs" Agency. During joint actions of the three services of "Kapitan Andreevo", over 50 kilograms of drugs were found - cocaine and synthetic cannabinoid.
The drugs, worth over 4.6 million leva, are traveling from Western Europe to Turkey. A German citizen has been detained.
Atanas Kurtov, head of the GDBOP Plovdiv department: "The development is by GDBOP, jointly with the Border Police and the Customs Agency. At the "Kapitan Andreevo" checkpoint, a minibus with a German license plate was stopped for inspection at the outgoing vehicles. A request for a thorough customs inspection was submitted by colleagues from the Border Police, which was carried out by colleagues from the "Customs" Agency, during which about 24 kilograms of cocaine and about 27 kilograms of synthetics were found.
Valery Staykov - head of the operational unit of the Kapitan Andreevo Customs checkpoint: "After performing the X-ray control, unusual densities appeared in the floor of the cargo van. After an inspection, it was found that there were 5 covers in the floor, which were made to conceal the cache. About 24 kilograms of cocaine and 26 packages of synthetic cannabinoid were removed from there. or MBMD synthetic cannabis. This is part of the types of drugs for vaping".
