The father finds his child in a helpless state under a bridge in the city garden of Lukovit.
„He slowly woke up, he was covered in blood, his head was swollen. At one point he shouted - dad, I can't feel my hands, the child was in panic, shocked“, said Gennady Petkov.
The police are sparing - a fight broke out. Relatives say that on Sunday the children took janki and rang the front doorbell, which provoked the perpetrator.
“These were just some kids playing, they might have caused some trouble, it is not excluded. But to beat up an 11-year-old child, to break both of his arms, is especially cruel“, said Sasho Ivanov, an expert on Roma issues in the Lukovit Municipality.
The boy said that he ran from his attacker for more than a kilometer.
According to relatives, in addition to being beaten several times, the child was thrown off a bridge. They are demanding permanent arrest, as they believe this is attempted murder.
The thug was detained for 24 hours and then released.
“This is a serious criminal offense and in my opinion this person should be in prison“, said Lukovit Mayor Ivan Grancharov.
Tensions escalated and protesters stormed the prosecutor's office. After failing to speak to a prosecutor, they blocked the main road through the city.
The detained man has no criminal record. He will be charged with causing moderate bodily harm.
