A suspect in Milan murder, who was hiding in "Sveti Vlas", was extradited to Italy from Bulgaria, BNT reported.

The Burgas District Court decided to extradite Italian citizen Daniel D’Alessandro, accused of the murder of Vittorio Boyocchio in Milan in 2022. The suspect was detained a few days ago in "Sveti Vlas" after being wanted with a European arrest warrant issued by the Italian prosecutor's office.

The murder was committed in complicity with six people. The magistrates decided that D’Alessandro should remain in custody until his surrender to the Italian authorities. In the courtroom, the accused objected to the extradition, citing concerns for his personal safety in an Italian prison.

"Our request was submitted to the court on Saturday morning. It has two directions - one is to detain him, which happened on Saturday. The second is to initiate legal proceedings to allow the execution of the European arrest warrant of the Italian authorities. The requested person is accused by the authorities in Italy of two crimes - murder and possession of a firearm. Both crimes, as in Bulgaria, are punishable by imprisonment. Serious intentional crimes. According to the European arrest warrant of the Italian authorities for murder, a life sentence is provided there," said Svetoslav Marinchev, deputy district prosecutor of Burgas.
