A 9-year-old boy from the town of Lom shot himself in the ear with a gas gun, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Montana reports.
The child was admitted to the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment (MBAL) “Dr. Stamen Iliev“ in Montana with a torn wound to the earlobe and evidence of a concussion, without danger to life, BTA explains.
The alarm was filed on April 18 at around 8:00 p.m. by a 23-year-old resident of the town of Lom, in whose home the incident occurred. The boy was visiting the owners of the property, he was left alone in a room, where due to negligence he shot himself in the right ear with a gas-signal weapon. A patrol car was immediately sent to the address, and an emergency team transported the child and his mother first to the Lom hospital, and subsequently to the "Dr. Stamen Iliev" Hospital in Montana.
According to data from the Ministry of Interior - Montana, the weapon is legal and is owned by the brother of the woman who filed the report. An inspection of the scene was carried out, from where the gas-signal gun, ammunition for it and other material evidence were seized. Witnesses were questioned. It is being clarified how the child gained access to the weapon and reproduced the shot. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
